Which One?

I found this wonderful yarn today and thought, of course I'll do this in single crochet to show off the wonderful random lines of color in the purple base. However, I didn't anticipate how much texture sc creates. After some trial I now have two scarves begun and need help to decide which is better.

The one on the left is the hdc and the one on the right is the sc. Click on the picture for a close up. Which do you think does a better job of showing off the yarn?

Thanks for your input!

My vote is on the hdc. I like how the cc pools a little tighter.

I prefer the hdc also. It seems to allow for a better pattern flow of the other colors.

I like the half also.

Okay, just to be difficult -- I actually prefer the sc. I find the stronger horizontal lines created by the hdc to be a bit distracting -- the sc has a more even overall texture.

My opinion would be to use the SC.I think it shows the yarn off.

Hi,
I like the Single Crochet. Nothing seems to beat it for showing off color changes and it is such a neat look.
Great Yarn by the way.

Well, Phooey on me.. I like them both.

I like the hdc because you get a cluster of color among the sea of purple. However I like the sc because it speads the same pool out just a little bit.

For speed I would do the hdc but for "stiffness" I would do the sc.

Maybe do one row in hdc and another in sc.... Hrmm I wonder how that would look with that yarn..
